Strange New Worlds promises a blast from the past with a meta twist in the new teaser for Season 3. Paramount+ dropped a minute-long teaser for new season on Wednesday, with a lot of fun new details to dissect but still no release date.

"Strange New Worlds" has certainly done gimmicks before — take Season 2’s fantasy chapter, "The Elysian Kingdom," for example. Or the Season 1 animated crossover with " Lower Decks " called "Those Old Scientists," or Season 2's singing and dancing extravaganza titled "Subspace Rhapsody."

You can expect the leading cast from Season 2 of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" to reprise their roles in Season 3: Additionally, Martin Quinn joins the cast as Montgomery Scott. Continuing their recurring roles are Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk and Dan Jeannotte as Sam Kirk. Guest stars for the new season include Patton Oswalt and Rhys Darby.
