Hurricane Erin is expected to pass well offshore of the Mid-Atlantic but close enough to generate strong winds and dangerous seas and surf for Virginia, Maryland and Delaware beaches, particularly through Friday morning.

Beach and weather conditions improved Friday in Maryland as Hurricane Erin moved out to sea. The storm did not make landfall in the U.S., but moved north parallel to the East Coast.

Cloudy, cooler weather expected for Maryland through Wednesday; Erin will create hazardous beach conditions by mid-week.
