The yearslong quest by Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez to acquire control of the Minnesota Timberwolves seems to finally be in the home stretch, after current owner Glen Taylor opted not to appeal an arbitration panel’s ruling that he must go forward with the $1.

A process that began with a $1.5 billion agreement in 2021, finally moves on and now requires only NBA owners’ approval.

Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx owner Glen Taylor will not appeal an arbitration ruling that did not go in his favor, a person with knowledge of Taylor’s decision confirmed to USA TODAY Sports. The person requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about Taylor's plans.
