Escaped Rockdale County inmate Timothy Shane was captured on Wednesday morning in Covington, according to the sheriff's office.
Timothy Shane was re-captured nearly 40 miles from Grady Hospital in an abandoned home in Covington after a two-day manhunt.

The inmate had been taken to a hospital in Atlanta on Sunday evening, and escaped around 1 a.m. Monday, driving off in a SUV that had been parked nearby. Shane then crashed and left the car, taking the Glock handgun him, authorities said.
The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office says Shane was taken into custody Wednesday morning in Covington with assistance from multiple agencies.
Timothy Shane is considered "armed and dangerous" after escaping from Grady Memorial Hospital.
