Young Thug will not be jailed after posting a photo that was believed to have breached his probation. According to TMZ, the Atlanta-born rapper revealed the identity of Fulton County Investigator Marissa Viverito in a post shared to X on Thursday (April 3) that has since garnered over two million views.
Prosecutors say the investigator whose photo Young Thug reposted is currently a witness in a “multi-defendant gang murder” case. The judge explicitly said during a hearing that the investigator was not to be shown on television while testifying, their filing says.
Young Thug will remain free after a judge declined Atlanta prosecutors’ motion to revoke his probation. In her order, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Judge Paige Reese Whitaker did warn that “it may be prudent for Defendant to exercise restraint regarding certain topics” on social media.
A judge in Atlanta has declined prosecutors’ request to revoke Young Thug’s probation and send him to prison. However, the judge cautioned him over his social media use after a viral post sparked an online backlash against the district attorney’s office, The Associated Press reports.
