Work to build a 210-unit apartment building near downtown is underway. It will consist of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units and a parking garage.

Many of the tenants at the Vintage at Spokane Senior Apartments will see an increase in their monthly rent on August 1. The amounts vary for each tenant.

Terri Anderson, the Spokane director for the Tenants Union of Washington, said fair market rent this year for HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher Program went from $790 to $990 for a one-bedroom apartment.
