King of Fans, the manufacturer of the Hampton Bay 54-inch Mara indoor/outdoor ceiling fans, issued the recall.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling about 182,000 units of the Hampton Bay 54-inch Mara Indoor/Outdoor ceiling fan. It says the blades can detach from the fan while in use.

Ceiling fans should cool a room, not cut the people or things in a room. That’s why Fort Lauderdale company King of Fans recalled 191,000 Hampton Bay 54-inch Ceiling Fans in the U.S. and Canada.
