Hog hunting used to be open season in East Tennessee. It was not until 2011 that the TWRA walked back on that decision when they said unregulated stocking of the species led to a population expansion.
SWEETWATER, Tenn. - At least five counties in East Tennessee are asking state officials to loosen regulations on hunting feral hogs.
In 2015, wild hogs had spread from just being present in 15 counties in Tennessee to nearly 80 out of 95.
