ITN chief executive Mark Wood is to step down from the role after five years, it was confirmed today. Wood has served as ITN's chairman since 1998 and was appointed chief executive in 2003.

Mr Wood, from north London, became a director of ITN in 1993, then non-executive chairman in 1998 before being appointed full-time chairman in 2002.
