Another round of fire weather could last for much of next week in Southern California, bringing new dangers as Pacific Palisades, Altadena and surrounding communities struggle to assess the damage of devastating wildfires earlier this month.

Winds have died down in recent days, but another Santa Ana wind event is expected early next week. There are still air quality concerns, particularly closer to the burn areas. LOS ANGELES - Calmer winds over the last few days have allowed firefighters to drastically increase the containment of two major wildfires burning in Los Angeles County.

This weekend will be cool with daytime highs generally below normal this time of year with the exception of mountains and deserts. The marine layer and low clouds will rebuild along the coast and some inland valleys in the evening and morning hours for the next couple of days,

Another Santa Ana wind event is expected to bring back fire danger to Southern California. Cooler temperatures are expected through the weekend as an onshore flow returns, according to the National Weather Service.
