Officials in eastern Tennessee say two people were killed when severe storms with two tornadoes moved through the region.

Two people were killed in eastern Tennessee after severe storms, possibly a tornado in Tennessee, moved through the region. Local officials confirmed that a mother and daughter from the same household lost their lives when the storm hit the Deer Lodge and Sunbright areas of Morgan County.

The suspected tornado hit the small communities of Deer Lodge and Sunbright around 8:27 p.m. and caused “severe property damage,” according to the county.
