As crews find success containing the Flat Fire, work on the Emigrant Fire continues. However, weather conditions spell trouble for this week.

ESTACADA, Ore. -- The 36 Pit Fire east of Estacada has grown from 2,300 to 3,600 acres overnight, officials said during a briefing Tuesday morning.

The wildfire actively burning around the La Dee Flats area southeast of Estacada was estimated to be 35% contained as of Tuesday morning, according to the Oregon Department of Forestry.

The 244 Fire burning south of Estacada has burned 38 acres and is 35% contained. Firefighters are working to complete fire lines and strengthen existing containment lines to keep the fire in check.

Firefighters reported more progress in their effort to contain a wildfire burning southeast of Estacada that threatened more than 160 homes.
