Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III believes Patrick Mahomes and Micah Parsons should consider missing the 2026 season, arguing that true recovery from December ACL tears often takes far longer than medical clearance suggests.
The Chiefs’ star signal-caller will seek a second opinion on his knee injury from Dallas Cowboys head physician Dr. Dan Cooper, coach Andy Reid said Monday during a media availability. “He’ll attack it,” Reid said of Mahomes going through his recovery. “He’s got good people here to rehab him.”
Griffin suffered a torn ACL and LCL at the end of the 2012 season, the same injuries that have ended Mahomes’s 2025 campaign.
