Viking has ordered two hydrogen-powered cruise ships, Viking Libra and Viking Astrea, from Fincantieri, with deliveries expected in 2026 and 2027, respectively.

Its next ocean ship, the Viking Astrea, also will be hydrogen-powered and delivered in 2027. The 998-passenger ships will have a propulsion system based partially on liquefied hydrogen and fuel cells.
