Netflix‘s new show Apple Cider Vinegar cheekily ends its six episode run by letting lead character Belle Gibson (Kaitlyn Dever) break the fourth wall to tell us to just google what happened to the real Belle Gibson next.

Although Belle Gibson's onscreen story in Apple Cider Vinegar ends in 2015, the real-life woman went on to face legal repercussions for her actions.

The is billed as a “true-ish story based on a lie" and is inspired by a 2017 book, “The Woman Who Fooled the World,” by two investigative journalists, Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano, who explored Gibson’s deception.
