The US National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has decided not to add the great hammerhead shark (Sphyrna mokarran) to the Endangered Species List.

More Sphyrnidae. Found around the globe in coastal warm temperate and tropical seas, they have been observed from the ocean’s surface and intertidal waters to at least 902 feet (275 meters) deep.
