The Dallas Stars have added another assistant to new head coach Glen Gulutzan’s staff. David Pelletier is joining as an assistant coach, the team announced Friday. Pelletier spent the last 11 years with the Edmonton Oilers and has experience working with Gulutzan.

Faksa returns to the Stars after a year away. The Stars have not focused on adding much, as they have prioritized getting big contract extensions done that have taken up all their available cap space. They have locked up Matt Duchene and Jamie Benn among others.

The camp roster currently features 35 players, including 19 forwards, 12 defensemen and four goaltenders, including all six players from Dallas' 2025 NHL Draft class

The Stars announced on Tuesday, July 1 that they have hired Glen Gulutzan as their next head coach. He was the Stars' coach during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons and was fired after missing the playoffs in both seasons.

Glen Gulutzan talked to reporters on Wednesday, a day after being named the newest Dallas Stars head coach. Gulutzan coached the team from 2011-2013, then was fired by General Manager Jim Nill. Nill said he believes Gulutzan is now ready to lead the Stars to a championship.

Right-handed defensemen are a rare commodity in the National Hockey League, so when one becomes available, it’s normal to see several teams interested.
