LIV Golf is making a fresh bid to crack the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) after striking out two years ago, setting up another potential showdown over the Saudi Arabia-backed circuit's place in professional golf's pecking order.

LIV Golf is trying again to get world ranking points. The Official World Golf Ranking said the Saudi-funded league of 54 players has sent in a new application to be included in the OWGR.

LIV Golf has reapplied for its events to receive Official World Golf Ranking points, the chairman of the ranking’s board, Trevor Immelman, announced Friday.

While the PGA Tour heads to Scotland for its tuneup ahead of the 2025 Open Championship at the Scottish Open, LIV Golf will be in Spain for LIV Golf Andalucía at Real Club Valderrama. It will serve as the home event for Sergio Garcia's Fireballs squad as well as Jon Rahm as his Legion XIII squad battle at the top of the LIV Golf team standings just behind Bryson DeChambeau's Crushers.
