An incredibly strong area of low pressure will bring heavy rain, strong winds, and possible flooding to Buffalo and the surrounding area this week.
With Tropical Cyclone Alfred set to make landfall, being the first to do so in over 50 years, torrential rain and winds above 125 kilometres per hour are set to shortly follow.
Thunderstorms late in the day Tuesday could contain some damaging winds and some isolated tornadoes.
The cyclone is expected to make landfall in south-east Queensland on Thursday, bringing with it heavy rainfall across the dam catchment area.
