Paul and Christy Akeo are coming home after spending a month behind bars in a Mexican prison amid a timeshare dispute.

A Michigan couple who was being held "hostage" in a Mexican prison for nearly a month have been released on Thursday and are heading home.

Monthly charges were made on a credit card, but between August and November 2022, the hotel learned that the couple allegedly disputed charges totaling more than $116,000. Additionally, Mexican authorities said Christy shared information on social media about how they had broken their contract.
