I’ve just met with the Minister for Transport to press Runcorn’s case for fairer bridge tolls. Small local businesses such as transport and delivery firms have no choice but to use the bridges every day and are being unfairly penalised compared with businesses elsewhere. Runcorn and Helsby faces serious transport problems. It is not just the bridge tolls, but a lack of local transport services across the constituency, particularly in rural areas.
