Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Tuesday said Democrats would “very shortly” present Republicans with a “detailed” proposal on changes to immigration enforcement policies. “If Leader Thune negotiates in good faith, we can get it done,” he told reporters when asked whether there will be enough time to finalize a deal before the Homeland Security Department’s stopgap funding expires on Feb. 13. “We expect to present to the Republicans, a very serious detailed proposal very shortly.”
